Ran into my dudes, Cole and Goon aka BFA a few days ago on the hill. I recently recorded a song with them that will be on their next project and word on the street is we're going to be shooting a video for it soon that may or may not include a Molly Moons truck.

I was on my way to brunch in Manhattan Sunday morning when I walked past a man asking for money. I initially brushed it off and kept walking. But I was compelled for some reason to walk back. Maybe it was his appearance: Avirex bubble jacket, Big "B" chain, crooked teeth, etc. He reminded me of a mid-late 90's era rapper I would have listened to back in the day. I walked back, gave him a buck and asked him if I could take his photo. "Yeah you can take my photo...you know any producers?". I chuckled, "yeah...I know a couple". What followed, completely unsolicited, was really long verse, at least 40 bars. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good. It was appreciated though, if nothing else, for the fact that he gave me my moneys worth. His name was Born Justice.

Big thanks to my friend Nino for these photos. I met Nino a few weeks ago in Pullman at a show he photographed for us. We got together this weekend to talk about music, fashion and photography and took some photos of a few of my favorite winter pieces, in the process. Check out more of his photography work here!.

I'm a big fan of accessories, especially bracelets. When I was younger, my mom owned a boutique at the market where she sold, among other things, a wide range of handmade bracelets. I think it was growing up surrounded by things that were handmade that gave me an appreciation for them and the artists that make them. Amanda (pictured above), is designer and owner of LUXLA, a company that makes and sells their own bracelets. I own two of Luxla's Hex Bracelets, in red/silver and black/silver and I wear them both regularly. The design is simple, crafted with leather and metal and looks great worn with anything. Check out more from LUXLA here.

A few shots from my most recent shoot with Koa. For our last shoot, we hit up the East and West Village. This time I wanted to switch it up so we hit up Chinatown. I had the pleasure of running into Scott Schuman, creator of The Sartorialist, a few days ago in Manhattan. I've been a fan of his blog for years so I definitely had a fanboy moment. In case you're not hip, take some time to check out The Sartorialist if you have an appreciation for fashion. It'll be more than worth your time.

Every street photographer has their own approach to taking photos of strangers. I try to be as discrete as possible so that my subject is not aware of what I'm doing until I walk away but if I'm going to blatantly invade someone's personal space, I'll ask for their permission out of respect. Sometimes they say no but typically they're indifferent or even flattered. For this shot, I was walking around the East Village and noticed this guy on his stoop talking on the phone. Something about his style was interesting. Maybe it was the way his Jordan-esque shoes oddly complimented his outfit or his ambiguous sweater/hoodie combo or just the way he carried on his phone conversation so nonchalantly. I gestured with my hands to ask if I could snap his photo. He couldn't care less.

Big thanks to my friend Koa for taking time out of a busy schedule to meet up with me a few weeks ago in NY for some shooting in the West and East Village. Most of the pieces he's wearing here are from the Jil Sander collection by Uniqlo (which Koa works for) with some added vintage wrist-wear he's collected over the years to complete his own personal style.

I recently made a trip to The Brooklyn Circus, as I usually do when I'm in NY. I definitely recommend checking out their selection if you're ever in the area. If I could describe their take on menswear, I'd say its a conscious effort to blend classical, almost antiquated pieces within the context of modern menswear. Aesthetically, the store itself fits perfectly in its quaint Brooklyn neighborhood and the entire vibe feels very authentic. I dig it.
